From Place Stanislas to Place Maginot, this walk explores the places of economic life around 1900: shops (pharmacies and boutiques), banks (including the glass roof of Crédit Lyonnais), and other buildings that reflect the city’s artistic dynamism. The École de Nancy made the most of technological advancements, the excellence of decorative arts and craftsmanship to imprint the entrepreneurial spirit of the business bourgeoisie of the time into stone, metal, glass, and wood.

The tour allows you to discover the heritage of the Dukes of Lorraine. The charm of the Old Town, with its medieval and Renaissance influences, is revealed through its architectural jewels (Duke’s Palace, private mansions, Porte de la Craffe) as well as its hidden gems. The tour also includes the UNESCO-listed ensemble, including Place Stanislas, which was created by the last Duke of Lorraine, as well as Place de la Carrière. Other iconic sites, such as the Basilica of Saint-Epvre, will also be presented.
